I was asked by a friend of mine to make some leather to promote and sell in his tattoo parlour. I was honored and here is the first piece created and inspired by the artwork of Mike Power at Dagger’s Cove Tattoo Parlour. I am the proud wearer of a few pieces of his artwork and this first whip stitched wallet will be followed by a whole line of double loop laced wallets all featuring tattoo inspired images.

Since I started working with leather I knew I would eventually make a martingale style collar that was entirely leather. I’ve seen lots of variations of this design, mostly with a chain for the tension loop. While that is safe for a training collar on many breeds, a greyhound’s thin skin is prone to injury with the metal links. While this collar was for a Sheppard/Lab mix I can only assume that there is a demand for leather greyhound martingales. So here it is!

When we first adopted our retired greyhound Onyx (Fuzzy’s Blackbelt at that time) we wanted a simple collar that accented his glossy black coat. We found it at the Halifax Doggie Expo a week later at Bark n’ Fitz. The collar served well but as time grew on his neck scratching took it’s toll on the embroidery and the nylon became tattered. My aim was to capture the essence of this green celtic weave collar in leather. I used brass hardware to match both the old collar and his new leather leash. The result has the spirit of the old and will break in nicely. We can still save the nylon one for beach/lake days and rainy walks.
So if you like the idea of leather but have another collar to have it modeled after, the answer is yes. We can do that.

I Haven’t posted recently so I am posting a little set I should have a long time ago.
These were sent in from Paul of “Silver” and his fancy new slip collar. I was so pleased with how the colors match his fur!
This color is a pain to work with on leashes but the collar turned out exactly as I pictured it in my mind’s eye, maybe even better. This is my first time offering a stand alone leash extension to accompany a training leash and turn it into a standard 5.5 foot lead when needed.
The beautiful greyhound that owns this set is a lighter brindle so the letters compliment him perfectly. I can’t wait to show pictures of him with it on!

Custom orders are what this business is all about for me. It’s about solving a problem or making a design that will fit a specific purpose and make life easier besides. This training leash is one such example.
All it consists of is a loop and a latch. It is the perfect size for my greyhound to teach him to walk at exactly the spot I want him to without having a load of slack to take up with a longer leash. While I see this as mainly a training tool, other dogs might like this as an every day walking leash as it’s great for car rides and won’t get tangled EVER!
Very fun set of wide collars to do for some very big dogs. These collars are both minimum 23″ inside! As I am happy to report, this very sentimental gift that was received very well.
Also I am happy to report a new color choice with Antique Black.
All this time making stuff for other dogs when I realized Onyx is still wearing his old nylon color. I plan to tool an homage to that collar in green and until I get around to making it, this is the nice leash that will match it.
